Website Settings FAQs

What is the Website Settings section?

The Website Settings section is found in the Synchtank Admin and contains all the configuration options for both the front-end and back-end of your site. It is organised into tabs across a horizontal navigation bar covering Tracks, Albums, Music Packages, Composition Shares, Metadata, Users, Emails, Cookies, Social Media, E-Commerce, SEO, Advanced Search Layout, Admin Theme, Embed Settings, Search, Security, and Main Navigation.

What can I configure in Tracks settings?

Five options are available:

  • Enable Child Tracks — allows you to assign a track to a parent track (e.g., a track and its alternate versions)
  • Enable Embed Custom Metadata on Download — embeds metadata into MP3 and AIFF files when downloaded from the front-end
  • Enable MP3 Embedded Comment — embeds a custom comment into MP3 files, such as a copyright notice. The comment text is entered in the field that appears below the toggle.
  • Enable Master require related Composition — forces every Master in the system to have a linked Composition
  • Enable Custom Master ID Generator — automatically assigns a unique custom ID to new Masters

What can I configure in Albums settings?

You can view and manage the album formats available in your system. There is also one toggle:

  • Show Detail Page — when enabled, each album gets its own dedicated page with a unique URL. This also enables the View on Frontend button on the album page in Admin. When disabled, albums do not have their own page.

What can I configure in Music Packages settings?

Two options are available:

  • Allow audition of package tracks for logged user — when enabled, only logged-in users can play package tracks
  • Enable Themes — when enabled, package tracks can be added to Themes. A new Themes section will appear under Music Packages. A Theme is a child of a Package and does not have a collection.

What is the Composition Shares setting?

This is where you set the Default Writer Role that appears automatically when users enter Composition Shares in the system. The default role pre-fills the writer role field when adding a new share, saving time and ensuring consistency.

What can I configure in Users settings?

You can toggle Auto-confirm after email verification on or off. When enabled, a user's account is automatically confirmed once they verify their email address after signing up on the front-end.

What can I configure in Emails settings?

You can set up the sender name, reply email, notification frequency, email logo, signature, and footer for all automated system emails (such as account creation and password reset emails). You can also preview the automated emails at the bottom of the page.

How do I enable cookies on my site?

You can add links to your social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, and more) and configure how they appear on your site:

  • Show links on the homepage — displays social media links on the homepage
  • Show links on all pages — displays social media links across all pages

  • Hide Twitter Feed — hides your Twitter feed from the site

You can also add your Facebook Like button code in the Facebook Integration section to embed it into your site.
