Website FAQs
What is the Website section?
The Website section is found in the left-hand navigation of the Synchtank Admin. It allows you to manage and edit the pages and content on your site that are not directly linked to your music catalog — such as news articles, events, slides, and static pages.
What can I manage in the Website section?
The Website section includes the following areas:
- News — create and manage news articles that appear on your News page or Homepage
- Events — create and manage event pages that can appear on your Events page, Homepage, or Artist pages
- Slides — manage slider content displayed on your website (if enabled)
- Pages — create and manage static content pages such as About Us, Contact, or FAQs
- Item Groups — curate and control the display and order of content (artists, albums, playlists) on specific website pages
- Types — create classification values used across records in the system
- Routes — configure how website URLs behave, including redirects
- Territories — manage geographic territories used across the platform
How do I create a News article?
Go to Admin → Website → News and click the green Create button. Fill in the date, title, and content, configure visibility settings, and save. A preview is available before publishing. Each news article gets its own URL.
How do I create an Event?
Go to Admin → Website → Events and click Create. Fill in the date, title, and content. You can toggle whether it appears on the Homepage or on a specific Artist page. A preview is available and each event gets its own URL.
How do I manage Slides?
Go to Admin → Website → Slides. From here you can create, edit, delete, and reorder slides. When creating a slide, select the media type (Image, YouTube/Vimeo, or HTML5 video), add a caption, set an optional redirect URL, and define the sort order.
The slider must be enabled during the website implementation process. If your site does not display a slider, contact your Account Manager for assistance.
How do I create a static Page?
Go to Admin → Website → Pages and click Create. Add a title, organize it using the Tab field, and add content using the rich text editor. Each page gets its own URL and can be linked in your site navigation.
What are Item Groups?
Item Groups allow you to curate and control the display and order of specific content types (such as artists, albums, or playlists) on designated website pages. Once an Item Group is created and items are added, the order defined within the group determines how content appears on the associated front-end page.
The Type of an Item Group cannot be changed after creation. If your site does not display Item Groups, contact your Account Manager for assistance.
What are Types?
Types allow you to create classification values used across different records in the system — such as Production Type, Artist Type, or Contract Type. Once created, these values appear as dropdown options when editing the relevant records.
What are Routes?
Routes allow you to configure how website URLs behave — including redirects, overrides, and aliases. They are typically created and maintained by the product or technical team when URL changes are needed. Incorrect routes can break navigation or impact SEO, so contact your Account Manager or Support if you need a route configured.
What are Slug Patterns?
Slug Patterns define how URLs are automatically generated for different types of content (tracks, albums, artists, playlists etc.) using placeholders that are replaced with real record data. They are found under Admin → Website → Routes → Manage Slug Patterns.
What are Territories?
Territories define the geographic regions used across the platform in workflows such as Release Deals and licensing data. They are based on the international TIS territory system. If you need a territory that is not part of the TIS system, contact your Account Manager or Support.
