What is the Placements section?

The Placements section is found under Catalog in the Synchtank Admin. It allows you to manage and showcase syncs — instances where your music has been used in TV shows, films, adverts, trailers, and other media. Placements can be displayed on the front-end of your site to promote your catalog.

What information can I add to a Placement?

When creating a Placement, you can add details such as:

• Title, date, and artist — core details about the sync
• Linked Master and Composition — connect the Placement to the specific track and composition in your system
• Video link or upload — add a YouTube or Vimeo link so users can watch the sync directly, or upload the video to your system
• Categories — organise Placements by type (e.g. ads, film, TV) using the Metadata section

How do I create a new Placement?

Go to Catalog → Placements and click the green Create button. Fill in the relevant details and save.

How do I link a Placement to an Artist?

Go to the Placements page, click on the Placement you want to link, and select the Artist from the Artist dropdown. This will associate the Placement with the relevant Artist profile.

Can I categorise my Placements?

Yes. You can assign categories to your Placements — such as ads, film, or TV — using the Metadata section. This helps organise and filter your Placements on both the admin and front-end.
