How do I search for tracks on Synchtank?

Depending on your system setup, you may have a search bar on your homepage and/or an Advanced Search area with filters. You may also have access to Natural Language Search and Similarity Search if those features are enabled on your account.

What is Advanced Search?

Advanced Search allows you to find tracks based on specific criteria such as genre, mood, artist, BPM, tempo, instruments, vocals, and more. To access it, click the Advanced Search button at the top right of your page.

You can combine multiple filters across different categories to narrow down your results. A counter at the top right of the screen updates automatically to show how many tracks match your current filters.

What is the search bar and auto-complete?

The search bar at the top of your site allows you to search for specific artists, tracks, or playlists. As you type, auto-complete suggestions will appear below based on what you've entered.

Can I save my favourite search tags?

Yes! Click the heart (♥) icon next to any search tag to save it as a favourite. This allows you to quickly reuse it in future searches without having to re-enter it.

What is Negative Search?

Negative search allows you to exclude specific filters from your results. Click the 🚫 button next to any search tag to remove it from your results. For example, if you want tracks in a minor key that are not slow, you can use negative search to exclude slow tracks.

What is Natural Language / Prompt Search?

Natural Language Search allows you to search using your own words — a phrase, a scene description, or a sync brief. For example: "A field of fallen soldiers" or "Retro soul in the style of Amy Winehouse for a Tim Burton movie."

What is Similarity Search?

Similarity Search allows you to find tracks similar to a reference track by pasting a link or uploading a file. You can even search specific segments of a song or suppress vocals for more accurate instrumental matching.
