How to Get Files on to your Workspace

Search

Once you have access to your workstation you will need to add files to it such as Statements that you wish to submit for processing on the IRIS system. There are two different types of workstations- AWS Workspaces and Azure Desktops. This method works for both systems, but Azure has an additional support for easier file transfers.

  1. You will need an account with a file sharing service such as Dropbox, Box, Google Drive or similar. Place the files that you need on workspaces into your file sharing service and then log into the workspace.
  2. From here you can then start the Edge web browser and log into to your file sharing service, for example Dropbox. Navigate to the folder that you stored your documents in and download them using the web interface of your file sharing service.

Note for Azure: For the Azure workstations you can also use copy and paste or drag and drop to transfer files into workspaces. On your local PC find the file that you wish to upload, push Ctrl C (command C if on a Mac), go into the workspace, select a folder in the file explorer and use Ctrl V (command V if on a Mac) and the file will be uploaded and pasted in. This may take some time to complete depending on the speed of your connection and the size of the files. You may also drag and drop the files from your computer into workspaces.
