Delivery FAQs
What is the Delivery Module?
The Delivery Module allows you to deliver tracks, albums, or playlists and associated metadata out of the system to external partners, streaming platforms, distributors, PROs, and customers.
The Delivery Module is an additional paid feature. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
What are the main components of a delivery?
A delivery is made up of four components that work together:
- Routes — where you're delivering to (credentials and connection details for your endpoint)
- Mappings — the metadata format for your delivery
- Paths — how your delivered files and folders are named
- Packages — the tracks, albums, or playlists you want to deliver
- Setups — bring everything together and run the delivery
How do I set up a delivery for the first time?
We recommend setting things up in this order:
- Create a Route — set up the connection to your endpoint
- Create a Mapping — define the metadata format
- Create a Path — configure file and folder naming
- Create a Package — select the content to deliver
- Create a Setup — bring everything together and deliver
Routes, Mappings, and Paths are usually a one-time setup per endpoint. Packages and Setups are created for each delivery.
How do I add tracks to a Delivery Package?
You can add content to a package directly from the package page using the + Add Source button — searching for masters, albums, playlists, and more. You can also add content from the Masters, Albums, or Playlists sections in the Catalog by selecting items and clicking Add to Delivery Package.
Can I copy an existing package?
Yes. Use the copy option in the package list. When copying, you can choose to include main versions only or include child tracks as well.
How do I run a delivery?
Open your Setup and click Deliver. You can monitor the progress via the progress bar and track the status in the Processes section.
What happens if a delivery fails?
Go to the Processes section of your Setup and open the failed delivery. You will see three tabs — Process, Delivery Errors, and Delivered Files — to help identify what went wrong. If needed, click the Retry button to re-run the delivery.
Can I deliver locally without an external endpoint?
Yes. When creating a Setup, toggle Deliver locally on the server to deliver files locally without needing a Route configured.
What delivery formats are supported?
Supported metadata formats include DDEX v3.8.2, DDEX v4.2, Fuga, Custom CSV, Custom JSON, DigAS JSON, and embedded metadata formats for MP3, WAV, AIFF, and FLAC files.
