Admin Settings FAQs

What is the Admin Settings section?

The Admin Settings section is found in the left-hand navigation of the Synchtank Admin. It allows you to control which fields are visible across your system and configure date formats for the Admin UI and reports.

What are Hidden Fields?

Hidden Fields allow you to show or hide existing fields across different areas of the system. This gives you control over what appears in the Admin UI without affecting your data — hidden fields are still included in reports, preserving access to any legacy data.

Which sections can I configure in Hidden Fields?

You can show or hide fields across the following sections:

  • Masters
  • Compositions
  • Composition Shares
  • Albums
  • Productions
  • Artists

How do I hide or show a field?

Go to Admin → Admin Settings → Hidden Fields, select the relevant tab, push the slider next to the field you want to hide or show, and click Save. The change will be reflected immediately in the Admin UI.

Will hidden fields still appear in reports?

Yes. Hidden fields are removed from the Admin UI only — they are still included in report exports, so you will not lose access to any existing data.

Can I add custom fields that don't exist in the system?

Custom fields are not self-configurable. If your enterprise requires a field that is not available by default, contact your Account Manager to discuss options — this requires custom development work.

What are Date Format Settings?

Date Format Settings allow you to configure how dates are displayed across your system. There are two separate settings:

  • Admin Date Format — controls how dates are displayed in the Admin UI only
  • Report Date Format — controls the date format used in generated reports and spreadsheet exports

What date formats are available?

Both the Admin Date Format and Report Date Format support the following options: MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, DD.MM.YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MMM-YYYY, DD MMM YYYY.

When importing data back into the system via spreadsheet, make sure to use the same date format as your Report Date Format setting to avoid errors.
